EFFICACY: HOW IT WORKS
Canker sores, a common form of mouth ulcer, appear as a painful white or yellow patch surrounded by a bright red area. They usually appear on the inner surface of the cheeks and lips, tongue, soft palate, and the base of the gums or when the tongue or cheek is bitten. They can be triggered by emotional stress, dietary deficiencies (especially iron, folic acid, or vitamin B12), menstrual periods, hormonal changes or food allergies. They usually begin with a tingling or burning sensation, followed by a red spot or bump that ulcerates causing excruciating pain and discomfort. Normally, pain decreases in 7 to 10 days with complete healing in 1 to 3 weeks. Larger ulcers often take longer to heal (2 to 4 weeks). Women are twice as likely to have canker sores as men. People whose parents have canker sores have a 90% chance of developing them early in life.

Canker sores often come back again and again. That is why those who experience frequent recurrence of canker sores live in anxiety, fearing the onset of the next tingling signals from within the mouth. Unfortunately, doctors do not know how to prevent canker sores from forming. They may occur with no identifiable cause. Canker sores occur most commonly with viral infections where the viruses invade our body's cells and use them to grow and multiply. If we remove the infected cell, the virus will lose its host, thus starving to death.

Because the virus is extremely small, any change in host property will affect it tremendously. Therefore, a single virus will die almost instantly due to change of property in its host. If the host no longer acts as a food source, the cluster of viruses in the cell will simply die off. Cells live off glucose, which is produced by the food we eat. If we prevent the glucose from entering the cell, the cell will starve to death. Thus, if the infected cells die, all the viruses living off them, will die as well.

INGREDIENTS
In addition to Aloe Vera Gel, Whole Leaf Aloe Vera and Liquid Vitamin C, the primary active ingredient in Thera Gel is 2-DG (2DG-PH 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose), a structure analogous to glucose of natural organic origin. When the infected cells receive 2-DG instead of glucose, they will simply die off along with the viruses and parasites that feed off them. The virus is starved to elimination.

When applied directly to the area and the active ingredient, 2-DG is fed to the infected cells, rapid changes begin to take place in the cells, producing results in just hours from application.
